The primary audience for this project included readers of urban fantasy, paranormal romance, M/M romance, and LGBTQ+ fantasy fiction. The design had to balance fantasy iconography with a modern, dramatic aesthetic that would resonate with readers browsing in digital storefronts such as Amazon, while still feeling unique and author-branded.
Touchpoints
Key touchpoints included the book cover itself, both in digital and print, and a promotional book trailer for marketing on social media. The book cover served as the anchor for the novel’s identity, while the video assets created a dynamic extension of the branding, engaging readers through a cinematic-style video experience. These combined touchpoints ensured consistency across print, digital, and promotional channels.
Success Metrics
The novel launched in October of 2024 and achieved measurable success, reaching the top 50 in Amazon’s Paranormal & Urban and Gay Fantasy categories. It also earned an average review rating of 4.5 stars on both Amazon and Goodreads. The cover and promotional materials contributed to strong initial visibility, reader engagement, and positive reception in the target market.
