Dragonfly Music Festival

Poster

This conceptual project was created for a university class assignment to design a promotional poster for the fictional Dragonfly Music & Arts Festival. The objective was to produce an engaging visual identity for the festival that communicated its folksy, country-inspired atmosphere while also appealing to a broad audience of music and art enthusiasts. The centerpiece of the design—a hand-painted figure in Photoshop—helped ground the poster in a warm, artisanal aesthetic.

Target Audience

If approached as a real-world client, the audience would include regional music and art festival attendees, particularly those who enjoy folk, country, and grassroots cultural events. In practice, the real audience was the classroom, where the project was designed to demonstrate digital painting, typography integration, and poster layout skills.

Touchpoints

The primary touchpoint for this project was the festival poster itself, presented as a bus stop mockup to show its potential application in real-world outdoor advertising. The design simulated how the poster would function in promotional spaces, where bold color, approachable illustration, and legible text all contribute to capturing the attention of passersby.

Success Metrics

Success for this project was measured by academic evaluation. The design received strong feedback from the professor and peers for its creativity, cohesive visual style, and technical execution. The project successfully met its objective of demonstrating illustrative and design skills within a festival branding context.
